Urban Forest, Eden Bradford

imageThese charcoal tree trunks take their shadow and highlights from the nearest light (artificial lights from the ceiling) and apply it to the drawing as if it were the sun. The idea of using charcoal is to emphasise the fact that this was once trees, just as charcoal too was once a living tree.  The overall effect would be of a forest or row of trees almost holding up the carpark roof.
