Eden Gardens is hosting Eden Unearthed, featuring art installations from both established and up and coming artists along the lines of Chaumont sur Loire. Running over an six month period (from September to mid February), Eden Unearthed will be held at the Eden Gardens flagship store in Macquarie Park, Sydney, which includes a function centre, restaurant, retail nursery, florist and established display gardens.
Eden Unearthed is an exhibition of temporal works, responding to the site, philosophies and moods of Eden Gardens. The gardens occupy nearly half of the 6 acre site and are mature and flourishing, with annual displays of bulbs and annuals, cactus and succulent collections, a woodland garden, rose and perennial garden, kitchen garden and seven exhibition beds.
The display gardens are located over nearly 3 acres, include around 25,000 plants, a creek, rose and perennial gardens, a poplar forest and exhibition gardens. The site is bounded by Lane Cove Road, Lane Cove National Park, and the M2 Motorway.

There are approximately 30 installations, some within trees, others gardens, glasshouses and water features, stairs and so on. For a site map, click here. There is also a strong community outreach function of the gardens which was considered within the exhibition. The Daffodil Garden, for example, for sufferers of Cancer, and the Cancer Council morning tea, houses an installation called Narcissi, and Youth off the Streets will be creating a work as part of the exhibition. There are also weddings and other events held in the gardens.
